What is the StarCard?

 

The StarCard is the official identification card of Oklahoma City University.  It is issued to all members of the University Community and is required for identification and access to essential campus services.  It also offers a convenient account for making purchases on and off campus.  All students, faculty, and staff at Oklahoma City University are currently eligible to receive a StarCard.

How do I get my StarCard?

 

Returning Students – If you are a returning student living on campus, you will receive your new card when you return to campus for move-in.  However, whether you live on campus or not, if you visit campus any time after

August 1, 2011, you are invited to pick up your new StarCard in the Cashier's Office.

 

New Students – Most new students will have their new StarCard ID made during new student orientation.  However, if you are a new student and will be on campus before orientation, you may have your new ID card made at the Cashier's Office in the Clara Jones Administration Building any time after August 1, 2011.

 

Faculty and Staff – Pick up your new OKCU StarCard at the Cashier’s Office, located on the third floor in the Clara Jones Administration Building, any time after August 1, 2011.

 

*Your old ID card will not work after August 1, 2011

 What if I lose my StarCard?

 

Immediately report a lost or stolen card to the Oklahoma City University Police Department at 405.208.5001.  To deactivate your StarCard account, click here or call 1.888.627.7499. 

 

Replacement cards are issued at the Cashier’s Office located on the 3rd floor of the Clara Jones Administration Building.  Cashier hours are Mon. – Fri. from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  For more information, check out the OCU Student Handbook at www.okcu.edu/students/resources.aspx.

 

To get your new StarCard, visit the Cashier’s Office located on the 3rd floor of the Clara Jones Administration Building.

 What is my Student ID Number?

 

Your Student ID Number is the 9-digit number located on the front of your StarCard just below your name beginning with the letter “B”.

 What is my StarsCash Number?

 

Your StarsCash Number is the 16-digit number located on the front of your StarCard, just below your 9-digit ID number (beginning with “B”). It uniquely identifies your prepaid spending account.

 What's the difference between my Meal Plan and StarsCash?

 

Both accounts are accessed by your StarCard.

 

All students are eligible to participate in a meal plan.  Meal plans are only accepted as a form of payment at campus dining locations.  Click here to learn more.

 

StarsCash is a prepaid spending account that is accepted at all campus dining locations plus many other locations on and off campus.  It is designed to eliminate the need to carry cash.  You or your parents must add value to StarsCash before using them for purchases.  StarsCash rolls over from semester-to-semester and from year-to-year.

 How does StarsCash work?

 

StarsCash is a cashless, prepaid spending account on your StarCard that is accepted on and off the Oklahoma City University campus.  You must add value to your account before using StarsCash to make purchases.  You must have sufficient value available in your StarsCash account to pay for each transaction. Each time you use your StarsCash account, the transaction amount will be deducted from your account.  You may not spend more value than you have.  Unused balances in StarsCash roll over semester-to-semester and year-to-year.

How do I add money to my StarsCash account?

 

Value can be added to your StarCard either by cash, check, or credit/debit card, via mail, phone, web, or in-person at Student Financial Services in the Clara Jones Administration Building or cash-to-card machine in the Dulaney-Browne Library.

When is my StarsCash available after adding value?

 

Funds transferred by debit/credit card and cash are available instantly.  Check deposits are available on the business day received.  If a check is returned to us by your financial institution for insufficient funds, the deposit will be reversed from your StarsCash account and a Returned Payment/Check fee will be assessed.  If the Returned Payment/Check fee creates a negative balance in your account, you will be contacted to make another payment to the account.

 Where can I use StarsCash?

 

StarsCash can be used at many on-campus locations and off-campus businesses.  These can be identified by the “Accepted” sticker featuring the StarsCash logo.  Click here for a complete list of accepting locations.

How do I make a purchase with StarsCash?

 

At retail locations, StarsCash works much like a debit or credit card.  Just present your StarCard for payment to the attendant at the register.  Your card will be swiped in a terminal and the transaction authorized.  You will need to sign a printed receipt of the approved transaction.  At self-service locations, simply insert your card in the terminal.

 What happens if I swipe my card at a self-service location and the machine does not work?

 

If the self-service machine does not work properly, you will not be charged for the transaction.  If for any reason you are charged, please e-mail us a refund request.  Please include the location, date & time of the transaction(s) in question.

How do I recommend additional accepting locations for StarsCash?

 

Cardholder suggestions are welcome and encouraged. Recommendations can be sent via e-mail to our recruitment department.  Please include the name of the location and why you would like to see them join the program.

How do I register my StarCard and StarsCash account online? 

 

Go to StarsCash Cardholder Account Center (Link) and click [Register Now] to have 24/7 Access to your StarsCash account.  To register, enter your 16-digit ISO Card Number, 3-digit Security Code (located next to your Card Number), your Last Name and either your 9-digit Student ID# (beginning with "B") or Date of Birth.  From there, create your Username and Password that you will use every time you login to your StarsCash account.

What is the StarsCash refund process?

 

You may request a refund of your StarsCash Account balance when you graduate, withdraw or leave Oklahoma City University.  Proof of withdrawal or dismissal is required. Refunds are processed when a student’s account balance is $10.01 or more and a written refund request is submitted to:
